Kristine Opolais joins the Boston Symphony Orchestra and her husband, Music Director Andris Nelsons, for a concert featuring much-loved Italian Arias at the Tanglewood Festival. The concert takes place at the Koussevitzky Music Shed on August 15. Ms. Opolais will sing “L’altra notte in fondo al mare” from Boito’s Mefistofele and the “Willow Song” and “Ave Maria” from Verdi’s Otello in this special programme, which also features Barber’s Second Essay for Orchestra, Puccini’s Intermezzo from Manon Lescaut, and Strauss’ Ein Heldenleben. She also sings Margherita in Mefistofele later this season, beginning October 24 at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
