Kristine Opolais makes several highly anticipated appearances at The Metropolitan Opera in the 2016/17 season. Ms. Opolais begins her Met season in a reprisal of her star turn as Mimì, in The Met’s classic Zeffirelli production of La Bohème. Performances take place November 16, 19, 23, 26 & 29 and December 3 & 8, with Piotr Beczała as Rodolfo, and Marco Armiliato leading The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra.
Kristine returns to The Met in early 2017, in the title role of Dvořák’s Rusalka. This new production, with staging by Mary Zimmermann, features a spectacular cast including Brandon Jovanovich as the Prince, Eric Owens as the Water Sprite, and Jamie Barton as Ježibaba. Mark Elder conducts all performances, February 2, 6, 9, 13, 17, 21 & 25 &
March 2, 2017. The February 25 performance will receive a live HD broadcast into theaters worldwide.
Ms. Opolais is also a featured artist in the Metropolitan Opera’s 50th Anniversary Concert on May 7, 2017. Maestro James Levine leads The Met Orchestra and Chorus for this special event, which features some of the most acclaimed artists in the company’s history. The evening also features a Gala Dinner following the performance.
