Following their critically acclaimed concerts in Boston, Kristine Opolais tours Europe with Andris Nelsons and the Boston Symphony Orchestra this May, in performance at some of the continent’s most renowned venues. Ms. Opolais sings Rachmaninoff’s “Zdes’ khorosho“ („Wie schön ist’s hier!“) op. 21/7 and Tatiana’s Letter Scene from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin, on a programme that also features works by Shostakovich, Debussy, and Ravel. Concerts take place on May 4 at the Philharmonie Essen, May 8 at Munich’s Philharmonie, and May 9 at the Musikverein in Vienna.
Ms. Opolais follows these appearances with additional concerts in Europe, in performance with Semyon Bychkov and the Concergebouworkest, reprising the Rachmaninoff and Tchaikovsky selections. Events take place at the Het Concertgebouw on May 11 & 12 and at the Dresden Music Festival on May 13.
