“Puccini is my great love. There is so much passion and freedom in this music.”

After her sensational performances in the title role of Puccini’s Suor Angelica at the Met, Kristine Opolais travels to Baden-Baden to share the stage with tenor Pavel Černoch in a festive evening of arias at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden. On December 31, Ms. Opolais and Mr. Černoch perform arias and duets by Giacomo Puccini, Antonín Dvořák, Franz Lehár, and others. Oksana Lyniv conducts the German Radio Philharmonic Saarbrücken Kaiserslautern. Please enjoy Kristine’s feature via the Festspielhaus website.

Following her gala engagement, Kristine performs a “New Year’s Concert” with the Würth Philharmoniker in Künzelsau on January 6. Julian Rachlin leads as first violinist and conductor with tenor Jonathan Tetelman joining Ms. Opolais on stage. Ms. Opolais and Mr. Tetelman recently shared the stage together in La bohéme at Tanglewood this past summer, with critics praising their “good chemistry” (Bachtrack) as Mimi and Rodolfo. The concert program includes arias and duets by Puccini, Strauss, Massenet, and others. More information and tickets are available via Würth Philharmoniker website.
