On March 21 & 29, Kristine Opolais stars in the title role of Puccini’s Manon Lescaut at the Staatsoper Hamburg. A signature role for Ms. Opolais, she began the 2018-19 season as Manon Lescaut with the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma on tour in Tokyo. Philipp Himmelmann’s production features stage design by Johannes Leiacke, costume designs by Gesine Völlm, and lighting design by Bernd Purkrabek.

Ms. Opolais will share the stage with Vittorio Prate as Lescaut, Jorge de León as Il Cavaliere Renato Des Grieux, Tigran Martirossian as Geronte di Ravoir, Oleksiy Palchykov as Edmondo, Shin Yeo as L’Oste, Gabriele Rossmanith as Un Musico, Dongwon Kang as Il Maestro di Ballo, Hiroshi Amako as Un Lampionaio, Jóhann Kristinsson as Un Sergente degli Arcieri, and Ang Du as Un Comandante di Marina. Francesco Ivan Ciampa conducts the Philharmonisches Staatsorchester Hamburg and Chor der Hamburgischen Staatsoper.
