On November 19, 21, and 23, Kristine Opolais returns to the title role of Puccini’s Madama Butterfly at the Auditorio de Tenerife. It’s a role which she has sung to great international acclaim at The Metropolitan Opera, where the New York Times commented that her “voluptuous, expressive voice soared over Puccini’s dense orchestration.” She’s also performed the role at the Wiener Staatsoper, Greek National Opera, Semperoper Dresden, Wrocław Opera, and Teatro Verdi di Salerno, among others.

The production in Tenerife is directed by Stefano Monti with Ramón Tebar conducting, and features Opolais alongside Giorgi Sturua, Alisa Kolosova, and Fernando Campero.
